About Macar

MACAR

Metadata Advisory Committee for Australian Repositories

MACAR has been established to provide recommendations and advice on metadata requirements for digital repositories. This Wiki aims to foster discussion and communication in the metadata community.

MACAR's goal is to be an internationally recognised authority on metadata standards for repositories, and for generating and promulgating best practice metadata standards across any repository. The primary focus will be on the needs of the Australian repository community.

This wiki currently contains the resource type vocabulary and a data dictionary of recommended properties. Links are provided between these two as suggestions only. We anticipate that users can review the properties for each resource type and adapt those as required for their own applications.
